The Mt Weld mine is located approximately 30 km south of Laverton and 120 km east of Leonora and is one of the largest rare earth deposits in the world. Mining began at the site in 2011, and Increva began working with Lynas on the expansion of the mine in 2022.
Increva’s team provided:
- Tender, evaluation and award of long lead items (including SAG Mill, Ball Mill, Regrind Mill, and Flotation Cells), and all piping (including super duplex stainless, carbon steel, and HDPE)
- Tender, evaluation and award of SMP Contract and compilation of Scope of Work documents
- Acted on behalf of the client as the daily focal point between project management team, engineering, contracts and procurement, planning and scheduling, cost control, QA/QC, document control, logistics, and construction team at Site
- Limited costly rework through HOLD management through quality informal and formal communication with all parties
- Project Structure setup including WBS, Estimate Cost Engineering, Budget Packages and Contract Packages
- Project Planning for Stage 1 and 2 then Project Planner on Stage 1 execution
- Setup up Cost Control and Change Management systems
- Site Pre-Development including scoping, planning, and setting up initial requirements for temporary facilities.
